? Monero Payment IDs, Ripple destination tags, STEEM memos, etc…
Version 2.8.1 brings support for coins that have optional destination tags, such as Monero Payment IDs, Ripple destination tags, STEEM memos, etc…
With most cryptocurrencies, transactions send money to one or more destination addresses. The destination address is all the information required to know where the money is going. For some currencies, there can be additional information recorded on the destination of a transaction. This info is usually an optional field, and it further specifies the destination. Examples include the optional payment ID in Monero and the optional integer destination tag in Ripple.
Until today there was no support for this in Bitcoin and Altcoin Wallets. The plugin has been modified throughout to accept and use this extra info. This is a change that touched every aspect of the plugin including accepting, storing and displaying transactions in the frontend and backend, the various internal APIs, the JSON API, the PHP API, email notifications, etc. Everything has been upgraded to allow for coin adapters that use this extra info in version 2.8.1
.
Additionally, the CoinPayments adapter has been upgraded to reflect these changes. The latest version of the adapter, 0.5.0-beta
, requires you to upgrade to version 2.8.1
.
You should update especially if you are interested in enabling these coins on your website.
regards,
Alex
