I discovered the conflicting plug-in:
Super Progressive Web Apps
After deactivating, the balance is now showing up upon normal refresh.
Reply To: [wallets_balance template="list"] doesn't update balance until clear cache
I reply to all queries on the forums and via email, once per day, Monday to Friday (not weekends).
